Middle Peninsula Detachment 1317 General Membership and officers Meetings
The address for each Marine Corps League Middle Peninsula Detachment 1317 General membership meetings will be at American Legion Post 75 in Gloucester.
The general membership meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of every month.
No Marine Corps League Middle Peninsula Detachment 1317 General Membership meetings in November and December, 2024.

The January 8, 2025 meeting will be at American Legion Post 75. This is the first meeting for 2025. Please arrive by 6:00 PM/1800 Hours if you want to eat before the meeting. The meeting will start about 7:00 PM/1900 Hours. The address for American Legion Post 75 is 5849 American Legion Way, Gloucester, VA 23061.
The Middle Peninsula Detachment Officers meeting is normally every month on the 4th Wednesday.
The Marine Corps League Middle Peninsula Detachment 1317 Officers meeting for TBD will be at American Legion Post 75. The meeting will start at 6:30 PM.

FAQ’s
1. Who can join the Marine Corps League?
Individuals that are current and prior service Marines, Navy FMF Corpsmen, and Navy Chaplains who honorably served or are serving are welcome to submit an application for consideration.
Individuals who did not serve in the Marine Corps, but who share the Marine values and the purpose of the Marine Corps League may also join by applying for Associate Member status.
2. When are the general membership meetings held?
The Marine Corps League Middle Peninsula Detachment 1317 General membership meeting are held every 2nd Wednesday of the month at American Legion Post 75 in Gloucester.
If folks would like dinner, it will be served from 6:00 PM-6:40 PM (1800-1840 Hours).
Events
- October 5, 2024 to December 11, 2024-Toys for Tots kicks off. MCL Detachment 1317 Mike Gilberti will be placing all of the drop off boxes in various businesses around Gloucester by October 5, 2024. If you are interested in helping out as a toy collector, please contact Mike directly at 804-824-6874. You will be issued a badge and sign a non-disclosure agreement before beginning any work with Toys for Tots.
Volunteers will drop off any toys to the warehouse. This will be set-up by the
middle of October. It will be at Gloucester Point Shopping Center in the end unit
closest to Domino's Pizza. Please contact MCL 1317 Commandant Dave Clements
or MCL 1317 Adjutant and Paymaster Jodey Clements for hours of operation.
Distribution of toys will be on Wednesday, December 11.
- November 30, 2024-Toys for Tots Stuff the Truck. The annual Toys for Tots Stuff the Truck event will take place on Saturday, November 30. It will be at Walgreens in Hayes from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM (1000-1400) with weather permitting. Folks can drop off new and unopened toys or monetary donations to the Marine Corps League members in front of Walgreens. Additionally, MCL 1317 members will be out on Highway 17 near Walgreens with baskets to collect monetary donations from folks driving along the road. The address for Walgreens is 2418 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes, VA 23072.
- December 14, 2024-Marine Corps League Middle Peninsula Detachment 1317 Christmas Celebration. MCL 1317 will gather again to celebrating the festive Christmas season together again. It will be at Detachment Sgt.-At-Arms Mike Keating and his Wife Michelle's home again. The start time for the event in Gloucester is 6:00 PM (1800). Invitations will be sent out in November. The invitations will ask what dish will the member or members bring to share. Please come out and celebrate this very festive and fun filled event.
- January 8, 2025-Marine Corps League Middle Peninsula Detachment 1317 meeting. The meeting will start at 7:00 PM/1900 Hours at American Legion Post 75 in Gloucester. This is the first MCL 1317 General Membership meeting for 2025. The first meeting since October 9, 2024. If you want to have dinner, please show up by 6:00 PM/1800 Hours. The proposed main dish, water, and iced tea will be served for a suggested donation of $10.00. Dinner will be served from 6:00 PM-6:40 PM (1800-1840 Hours).
